Future Ready Librarians

On their website, it says, "Future Ready Librarians® will provide resources, strategies, and connections for district leaders and librarians to work together to promote and implement innovative learning opportunities for students." Since this goal fits in well with what I strive to accomplish as a school librarian, I chose to follow this professional learning network. Their social media pages (Twitter and Facebook) share many professional learning opportunities in the form of webinars, YouTube videos, and Twitter chats, as well as the chance to share new ideas and ask questions. I have watched some of the videos on their YouTube channel that focus on “Leading from the Library.” As a librarian who is interested in educational technology and new ways to reach our students, this is a perfect fit!

Apple Education

The Apple Teacher page has a lot of resources for teachers wanting to learn more about using Apple products in the classroom. In addition to getting certified as an Apple Teacher, educators can take online courses, participate in Twitter chats, and read about new opportunities and tools. I have found it to be a very useful resource since our students went 1-to-1 with iPads last year.
